Saying Yes to the Spirit
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, as we conclude this week of reflection, help us to commit to saying yes to Your Spirit. May our lives be a testament to Your transforming power. Amen.
"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law."
Galatians 5:16-18 (NIV)
REFLECT:
Paul encourages us to walk by the Spirit, highlighting the ongoing conflict between the flesh and the Spirit. This walk is a daily choice to follow the Spirit's leading rather than our own desires. The message emphasized the importance of saying no to ourselves to say yes to the Spirit. This is a call to intentional living, where we prioritize God's will over our own.
Walking by the Spirit requires vigilance and commitment. It means being aware of the choices we make and their alignment with God's purposes. This is not about perfection but about progress. As we walk by the Spirit, we grow in our ability to discern His voice and follow His lead.
Reflect on your journey this week. How have you seen the Spirit at work in your life? What steps can you take to continue walking by the Spirit? Remember, this is a lifelong journey, and God is with you every step of the way.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will say “no” to myself so I can say “yes” to God's Holy Spirit.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the journey of transformation You have begun in us. Help us to walk by Your Spirit daily, choosing Your will over our own. May our lives reflect Your love and grace to the world. Amen.
