Amid the hustle and bustle, all the planning and preparation, it's easy to get wrapped up in the obligations and expectations. Presents, mistletoe, lights, the tree, shopping, decorations, carols, elves, tinsel, candy canes, reindeer.... the list can go on and on. But there is something much more special, something that can't be ordered online or put under a tree. God gave us the most precious gift, His son.
Like the wisemen, to experience Christmas we must seek his presence and worship him. "Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh." - Matthew 2:11
They sacrificed their time and treasure to worship God's gift, Jesus. This Christmas, we will reflect on what we can give, just as the Wisemen did, to honor and celebrate God's gift to the world.
