Living with Conviction
OPENING PRAYER:
Lord, as we explore what it means to live with conviction, fill us with courage and determination to follow Your will. May our lives reflect Your truth and love. Amen.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
This verse captures Jesus' promise of the Holy Spirit's empowerment for His disciples to be witnesses to the ends of the earth. It emphasizes the global scope of the mission and the divine power available to fulfill it.
Acts 1:8 (NIV)
REFLECT:
As we heard in his message this weekend, Pastor Elliott highlighted the conviction of the India Gospel League and their commitment to spreading the gospel across a vast and diverse nation. Their willingness to do "whatever it takes" is a testament to their deep faith and reliance on the Holy Spirit. This mirrors the early Church's experience in Acts, where the disciples, empowered by the Spirit, boldly proclaimed the gospel despite persecution.
Living with conviction means aligning our lives with God's purposes, even when it requires sacrifice. It involves a deep-seated belief that the message of Jesus is worth sharing, no matter the cost. Rodney’s message challenges us to examine our own convictions and consider whether we are willing to step out in faith.
For many of us, the idea of sharing our faith can be intimidating. We may fear rejection or feel unequipped. Yet, the promise of Acts 1:8 is that we are not alone. The Holy Spirit empowers us to be witnesses, providing the words and courage we need. Consider asking the Holy Spirit for guidance and strength. As we do this we can trust that He will work through us to reach others.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will do whatever it takes to proclaim the message of Jesus this week.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Holy Spirit, empower us to live with conviction and boldness. Help us to trust in Your strength as we share the message of Jesus with those around us. May our lives be a reflection of Your love and truth. Amen.
