Embracing the Call
OPENING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, as we begin this journey of understanding what it means to do "whatever it takes" for Your kingdom, open our hearts and minds. May Your Holy Spirit guide us into deeper truths and inspire us to live out Your calling with conviction. Amen.
"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
This passage, known as the Great Commission, is Jesus' final instruction to His disciples before His ascension. It underscores the universal mission of the Church to spread the gospel to all nations, emphasizing the authority of Christ and His promise of presence.
REFLECT:
In Pastor Elliott’s message this weekend, he challenges us to adopt a "whatever it takes" mindset, much like the India Gospel League's vision to plant a church in every village by 2040. This ambitious goal mirrors the Great Commission's call to make disciples of all nations. The India Gospel League's commitment is a modern-day reflection of the early Church's zeal, reminding us that the mission field is vast and the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37).
In our personal lives, this call to action can feel daunting. We may question our ability to impact the world or even our local communities. Yet, Rodney’s message reminds us that the power to bring life to "dry bones" lies not in our abilities but in God's Spirit working through us. Ezekiel's vision of dry bones coming to life (Ezekiel 37) serves as a powerful metaphor for spiritual revival, illustrating that God can breathe life into the most desolate situations.
As we reflect on this, consider how God might be calling you to step out in faith. Whether it's sharing your faith with a neighbor or giving to All Things New in support of our global missions partners, each act of obedience contributes to the larger mission. Rodney encourages us to see beyond our limitations and trust in God's power to transform lives.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will do whatever it takes to proclaim the message of Jesus this week.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord, thank You for the reminder that You are with us always, empowering us to fulfill Your Great Commission. Help us to step out in faith, trusting in Your strength to guide us. May our lives be a testament to Your love and grace. Amen.
